Reflexive Pronouns คืออะไร
Reflexive Pronouns คือ สรรพนามที่อ้างถึงตัวของประธานในประโยคเอง และยังถูกนำมาใช้เป็นกรรมของประโยคเพื่อเน้นว่าตัวประธานนั้นทำกริยาบางอย่างต่อตนเอง (Direct Object) หรือทำกริยา ทำกิจกรรมบางอย่างให้กับตนเอง (Indirect Object) ซึ่งสรรพนามเหล่านี้จะอยู่ในรูป -self หรือ -selves ขึ้นอยู่กับประธานเป็นรูปเอกพจน์ (Single Subject) หรือว่าพหูพจน์ (Plural Subject)
การใช้ Reflexive Pronouns
1. ใช้เพื่อเน้นประธาน (subject) ให้เห็นว่าประธานเป็นผู้กระทำสิ่งนั้น ๆ โดยวางไว้หลังประธานที่กระทำ แต่ถ้าต้องการเน้นกรรม (object) ให้วางหลังกรรม
2. วางหลังคำกริยา (verb) เมื่อกริยาของประโยคเป็นกริยาที่กระทำต่อตัวประธาน
3. วางหลังคำบุพบท (Preposition) แต่จะไม่ถูกใช้หลังคำบุพบทของสถานที่

1. ใช้เพื่อเน้นประธาน (subject)
He himself doesn’t think he’ll pass the exam.
Annie herself cannot understand her husband sometimes.
2. ใช้เพื่อเน้นกรรม (object)
I spoke to Mary herself.
He drove that car himself.
3. ใช้วางหลังคำกริยา (verb)
If you don’t love yourself, you cannot accept love from other people.
He enjoyed himself very much.
4. ใช้วางหลังคำบุพบท (Preposition)
I don’t want you to pay for me. I’ll pay for myself.
5. ใช้ By + Reflexive Pronouns เพื่อแสดงว่าเราทำสิ่งนั้นด้วยตัวเอง ไม่มีผู้อื่นอยู่ด้วย
